Spin Guidelines — SpinBottleFun

August 5, 2026

Simple habits for using the spin-the-bottle picker kindly and fairly in class.

1. Spin for chances, never dares

In classrooms the bottle picks who answers, reads, or helps — never who must do something embarrassing. School rules beat party rules, always.

2. A pass is always allowed

Tell students before the first spin: anyone may say “pass”, no questions asked. Knowing they can pass is exactly what makes shy kids willing to play.

3. Show the names going in

Let the class see the list before spinning. Visible fairness turns “it's rigged!” into “spin again!”

4. One spin stands

If the bottle points at the same child twice, honor it or re-spin openly for everyone — never quietly fix an outcome you didn't like.

5. Keep stakes tiny

Turns, jobs, small privileges, small prizes. If losing a spin would genuinely hurt — grades, teams, treasured belongings — don't spin for it.

A firm line: this bottle is a classroom picker, not a party game. No dares, no forfeits, nothing that singles out a child for discomfort. Fun that costs a student's dignity is never a fair price.

The happy-spin formula: announce what the spin decides → show the list → spin → celebrate → write it down → spin again next time.
